Exacta

The strongest surviving object-level bridge between the German Kienzle Chomutov factory and early Chronotechna-era chess-clock production.

Exacta-family clock with paired round units on a wooden base.

Two Identities in One Family

Surviving Exacta clocks appear in Chronotechna-linked forms and in examples carrying Kienzle Chomutov marks.

A Dated Physical Clue

One Kienzle-marked example contains an internal inscription dated 2 August 1951, placing the family directly inside the postwar transition.

Industrial Meaning

Kienzle Chomutov had been incorporated into the state system after nationalization. Exacta therefore appears to preserve continuity across a corporate and political rupture.

Historical Significance

The precise production sequence remains unresolved, but Exacta is stronger than a mere stylistic comparison: the clocks themselves embody the bridge between German branch-factory production and Czechoslovak state manufacture.
