Business Identity
The plaque identifies F. O. Carlsson's successor, Carl Jonsén, watchmaker, at Amagertorv 31 in Copenhagen and preserves the predecessor firm's 1877 founding date. Jonsén took control in 1897.
Construction
The clock uses a finely finished wooden cabinet, brass bezels, two mushroom-shaped top buttons, and a separate central control at the base. That control was probably a master stop, although its exact function has not been mechanically confirmed.
Attribution Limits
The movement manufacturer is unknown, and the plaque does not prove Jonsén personally manufactured every part. In-house construction, local assembly, or commissioned production are all plausible.
Historical Significance
The object represents the watchmaker-centered phase before Denmark's more clearly advertised 1930s club clocks.
