Direct Advertising Evidence

A surviving advertisement calls the clock 'Fabricação de V. Toth' and describes its wooden case, switching rods, dimensions, guarantee, and São Paulo sale price.

Remembered as a Maker

Later Brazilian chess writers remembered Vince Toth as an inventor, producer, and distributor and described surviving clocks as rare objects built by him.

Limits

The advertisement's exact date has not yet been established, and no full catalog or production ledger survives.

Historical Significance

Toth is securely more than a retailer. He represents an early domestic Brazilian chess-clock tradition whose scale is now difficult to reconstruct.
