AAA–Reguladora
A surviving clock made for Associação Académica da Amadora incorporates two Reguladora assemblies inside a purpose-built wooden chess-clock case. One top lever controls the alternating movements, and the dials carry both Reguladora and Portuguese manufacture markings.

Who Made the Complete Clock?
Collector testimony says a local clockmaker built the device from two Reguladora alarm clocks. Auction evidence confirms the components and AAA connection but does not prove Reguladora manufactured the complete chess timer.
Four Known, Not Necessarily Four Made
A collector account says only four were made, while auction documentation says four examples are known. Without contemporary production records, 'four known' is the safer public statement.
Other Reguladora-Based Clocks
Additional Portuguese clocks with Reguladora mechanisms survive in substantially different cases. Their variety argues against one standardized factory chess-clock line and instead suggests several local constructions.
Dating
Collectors have broadly placed some examples in the 1930s or 1940s, but those dates remain unverified.
Portugal’s Reguladora-Based Chess Clocks
Historical Significance
Portugal's surviving clocks are best understood as club- and workshop-level adaptations of a strong domestic clockmaking product. Reguladora supplied the mechanical foundation; local makers appear to have supplied the chess-specific cases, levers, and assembly.
